I Grew Up Too Fast, Kendall Jenner Admit

Kendall Jenner: I Grew Up Too Fast
Kendall Jenner finally says what we've all been thinking.

The 19-year-old reality star-turned-model weighs in on the topic of youth in The Wall Street Journal segment "The Columnists," chatting about what it was like growing up on Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

"I feel like I grew up too fast a long time ago," she says. "Having older siblings, you grow up around adults, so you mature more quickly. I saw my sisters and parents working every day, so I was pretty much brought up to be a workaholic."

Kendall confesses that she's a little uneasy about leaving her teenage years behind. "But I just turned 19 a couple weeks ago, and I'm scared to be 20," she tells WSJ. "It's the first step out of being a teenager."

Big sis Khloe Kardashian is doing her part to ease Kendall's anxiety, offering up some sage advice. "My sister Khloe always says to me and my younger sister, Kylie: 'You have your whole life to be an adult but only so long to be a kid.' And we get it," she says. "In the right situations, I try to be as immature as I can sometimes -- react to things as if I were 12. You can’t take things too seriously."

Jeddah Gov. Prince Mishaal bin Majed and SCTA chief Prince Sultan bin Salman talk to a stall owner in the Historic Jeddah Area at the inauguration of the festival while a troupe of folk dancers, below, perform on the occasion.

Jeddah Gov. Prince Mishaal bin Majed, chairman of the Tourism Development Council, opened the second Historic Jeddah Festival here Wednesday, which will feature 89 heritage, recreational, cultural and marketing events.
Prince Sultan bin Salman, president of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA), was also present. After the opening ceremony, Prince Mishaal and Prince Sultan toured the festival venue. “The festival is aimed at making people aware of their invaluable heritage and to help preserve it,” Prince Mishaal said.
The prince said the festival would contribute to the promotion of historical Jeddah projects because the old city has been listed as a World Heritage Site by the United bNations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). He said the festival is being held under the slogan, Your Sun Shines.
He pointed out that the historic district has many distinctive features, especially its development projects. He hoped that it would be a memorable and successful event and praised the organizers for helping to set it up.
The events this year include art programs and forums. There would also be shopping from the Nada Souk, passing along Al-Kabeer Souk and ending at Qabil Street. Visitors can benefit from discount sales, draws and gifts offered, he said. Visitors can also view 20 handicraft products and 20 folk dishes that were popular in ancient times.
The opening event featured an operetta called Your Sun Shines performed by 100 folk artists. The operetta portrayed the social life of Jeddah residents of the past based on mutual support and cooperation, how later generations drifted away from the ways of their forefathers, and then how the sun started shining again over Jeddah with its heritage achievements under UNESCO.

here are few players who know more about being in the spotlight on the FIFA Ballon d’Or Gala stage than Cristiano Ronaldo. Yet, on hearing his name read out as the winner of the 2014 award, the Portuguese star was unable to control his emotions and had to take a moment or two to compose himself before making his acceptance speech.
Moments after taking receipt of the coveted trophy for the second year in a row, Ronaldo spoke to FIFA.com about his elation at being named the best player in the world in 2014.
"When you're waiting to hear the name called, it’s a complicated moment," the Real Madrid forward said, who top-scored in the Spanish league last season with 31 goals in 30 games. "You feel nervous. Regardless of this being my eighth time here, it’s always very emotional.
“I know how much hard work and effort goes into winning this award, and that’s why I still get emotional, no matter how many times I come here to receive it. I hope I’ll be doing so for many years to come,” added Ronaldo, who also set a new scoring record in the 2013/14 UEFA Champions League with 17 goals, helping his club to land it for the tenth time.
After winning the FIFA World Player of the Year award in 2008, when he was still a Manchester United player, Ronaldo took second place on the podium in 2009, 2011 and 2012. Now 29 and at the peak of his considerable powers, he has retained the Ballon d’Or courtesy of two magical seasons.
