Pastor Adeboye and Pastor Tunde Bakare Back in the Days

We have seen so many celebrities’ photos and their humble beginnings and all we see is a serious disparity between those days and these days. These are referred to as religious celebs and it brings so much fun and delight to know they actually had days when they were looking more innocent than how they now look. Generally one sees that Pastor E.A Adeboye really hasn’t changed, but Pastor Tunde Bakare seem to have gone through a lot of changes. Long live the pastors

Way of Fixing a broken relationship

When it comes to fixing a broken relationship, one must ask themselves, "how much work am I prepared to do to put the pieces back together again?"

If you find yourself pondering that question for any length of time, there may be nothing you can do. Why? Because a relationship, or more importantly, strengthening a relationship, should not be viewed upon as work.

I know all the experts say that relationships take work, and in fact, the majority of them do. But you must remind yourself of a time when your relationship was new and how you felt during the first blossoming of that powerful emotion, LOVE.

At that time, how much work were you actually doing in the relationship? The answer is, absolutely none.

Think about if for a moment. If it required work to fall in love, how many of us would actually set about doing it? The answer is, no one would.

Here is a list of the first ten synonyms listed for the word work in the most comprehensive Thesaurus in print today: Labor, toil, exertion, effort, slavery, sweat, drudgery, grind, travail, chore

Not my idea of falling in love. Here's my recollection of how I felt when I fell in love for the first time: Warmth, passion, excitement, longing, delight, attachment, desire

You do not work towards any of those feelings and emotions, and, if you no longer think of these things when you look into your partners eyes, it may be to late to salvage what once was.

If, however, the once passionate fire has died down but there is still evidence of an ember or a spark or two, it is not to late to fan the flames of desire back into a towering inferno of love!

Pardon the metaphors, but I want you to get a sense of the emotions that have to be involved for a relationship to actually, dare I say it, work.

I want you to try an exercise for me and I want you to answer the following question with as much honesty as you can muster:

When you think about your partner, what are the first eight defining words that come to mind?

Go ahead, take a moment or two and write down the first words that come to mind when you ask yourself that question. It's important not to "think" to hard about this because your rational mind will try and make excuses for what you may actually be feeling and you will be left with an inaccurate picture of your relationship.

Now, look at the words you have written down and put them into one of two categories. Good feelings and emotions or Bad feelings and emotions.

I think you have some idea already of how you feel about your relationship and if you have more words in the Bad column than you do in the Good column, I would consider long and hard just why you are still in the relationship. It is extremely difficult to work at "feeling" differently and your fire may have long since died out.

If however, you still have many good things to say about you partner and you can recognize that it just may be your life that's getting in the way of love, happiness and fulfillment, you actually have a great chance at rekindling that love.

You need help though. Even the most passionate relationships can use a splash of fuel from time to time to keep the fires burning. There are many resources and experts out there that you can choose from to provide you and your partner with high octane ideas that will help keep your relationship hot and steamy.

MISTAKES NAIJA GIRLS MAKE IN BED

    1) Dont Fake It
Its no secret men love women who have orgasms but faking it to please them only robs you of the pleasure you deserve to have. Besides, if he think he is doing it right, it only makes him repeat the same style that achieved the fictitious result, and only takes you further away from actually having orgasms with him. What a shame. If its your first time together, then, get off to an honest beginning. If you dont have an orgasm, and he asks if you did, be honest and tell him the truth. The more you like him, the more honest you need to be with him.

    2) Show & Tell
Men can't read women's feelings like their palm. If you are not having orgasms with him, show and tell your man what he needs to do, and dont be afraid of appearing too liberated. Men love a challenge, especially this one, and a real man admires woman who can talk her way through it. Give honest feedback and lead him to the finish line. Its difficult to please a woman who cannot please herself. If you dont know what to tell him, and you dont masturbate, please start, and do use a normal size prop without electricity (if yours doesnt have batteries). When you find the spot, action, intensity, or combination that works, tell him what it is, and how well you both can work on that together until you both make "fireworks" from your energy. I call that recreation at its finest.

    3) Connect
If you both are connected emotionally, the experience can last as long as you want it to last, and it can be everything you both want it to be. Due to abandonment and other issues, some women go out of their way to disconnect. This behavior may protect your heart but will do nothing to your sexual experiences. Intimacy is not sex and sex is not intimacy, but intimate sex can be wonderful. If you have abandoned issues, try this: Say to yourself I may not love you tomorrow but right now I love you more than anyone I've ever known. Now connect and give yourself to him. You just might have the orgasm of your life and he may too.

    4) Dont Kick the Dog
Rejection in lovemaking is the worst of all things. Men are so much like puppies. Imagine coming home after a long day and your puppy bounces to the door with the most affectionate greeting, but rather than kneeling to shower him with love and affection, you kick the poor doggy. How often do you think that needs to happen before the little guy slows his approach and finally stops greeting you altogether? The same goes for men. Unless you want him to lose interest, and that can happen quite easily, find the energy to get yourself into it, each time and forever.

    5) Your Sex Drive
The only difference between a great friendship and romance is sex. In matchmaking, I try to match sex drives right along with all of the other stuff. When I interview men and women, I ask them to tell me a number from one to ten, lowest to highest, of how often they like to have sex per week. While a four and a six will usually work things out, a four and a seven likely wont, and neither will a two and a five, let alone a two and a seven. Save yourself six months in a relationship going nowhere. At the earliest point possible, mention your sex drive in a conversation so you two are on the same page.
Note: Contrary to popular belief, most women have very awesome and healthy sex drives.

    (6) Think Beyond The Bed
That mattress is for sleeping, and occasionally for sex, but if your sex life is boring, you are probably horizontal way too much. Find different places in the apartment, and find different places other than the apartment. Elevators, staircases, bathrooms and boardrooms are only the beginning. Always be on the lookout for a great place to take your lover, and if you are creative, surprise him by leading him to the spot you discovered. Guess what sweetheart? I found a new spot. Now get over here. Think 9 Weeks to make your love life last a lifetime.

    (7) Take the Lead
Men love it when women initiate sex. secondly they feel desired and totally gets turned on when women initiate sex.

    (8) Go for an Oscar
Not all women enjoy giving oral sex. The few ones who it do make their man feel like they'd do it for as long as they wanted. You don't rush it. Your man is always happy when you wait for him to signal you that he's ready for it. The result is that a man feels better connected to his woman, which will make the main event last longer and nice for you as well. If you are one of the women who does not enjoy giving oral sex, it would be in your best interest to pretend you are going for an Academy Award for Best Actress in an Action Thriller.

    9) Lets Talk or Not
People are split on the subject of talking during sex. Many can go either way. Try to find out early what your partner likes and doesnt like when it comes to talking like "I have a client that I introduced to a devout Catholic Italian Countess. They were in Saint Barths for their second rendezvous (their first was in Paris) when she mentioned to him every day how difficult it still was for her (at 32 years old) to escape the guilt of having sex. Midweek he called me for advice. Maybe she is hinting at what she really wants, bla bla bla. Try whispering "you are such a bad boy" while you are making love and and dont let your sex conversation distract his attention. Sex is about pleasing your partner, and if everybody felt that way, wed all be a lot happier. Of course, life would be a lot easier too if you would simply ask your man what he would like to hear or not hear.

    10) Get In Sync
If you've just started fooling around, and he caresses your hair or something innocuous like that, don’t moan like you are being ravaged by a minotaur. Melodrama during sex is highly annoying. On the other hand, if you are in sync, anything goes including all the sound effects of a jungle. And if one of you does something silly, go ahead and laugh so you both will. After all, were doing it for the fun, right?

Why I operate a taxi — Abuja female driver

Curiosity. That was the main reason for choosing to ride in Ms. Aisha Umar’s taxi in the Federal Capital Territory on Friday .
Ms Aisha Umar has been a taxi driver in Abuja for over five years. Her handling of the vehicle is professional. She calls out for passengers and attends to matters relating to her job cheerfully and promptly too. She is never shy; and almost every day, she has had to answer questions, especially from many inquisitive male passengers. That, she does, courteously.
According to her, taxi business was the last thing on her mind when she dropped out of the university over 10 years ago.
She was in her second year studying Public Administration at the University of Abuja when she became pregnant.
Her initial plan was to take a break for one year to have her baby and then return to the school to complete her studies.
But the plan failed and that changed her course.
Today, Aisha, a 33 year old single parent, is a taxi driver in the FCT. She is the first lady taxi driver in the nation’s capital.
She was the only woman in the business for over five years until about six months ago when another lady took up the job at the FCT, apparently impressed by Aisha’s success.
And business has been good, she admits.
According to her, she pays her rents and takes care of the family with what she makes from the taxi.
Five years is a lot of time to perfect the commercial driving act and most people are not surprised that the lady handles the steering, driving around the city, picking and dropping passengers with a high level of dexterity.
Aisha, a mother of two, told our correspondent why she had to abandon her trading business and went into taxi business. She said it started by accident.
She had returned from Algeria, leaving her husband behind when it was obvious that the marriage would not work. She came back to Abuja with two kids, a boy and a girl.
She immediately went into trading and was dealing in clothing materials.
As a lively woman, many liked to patronise her.
She bought a car, a Nissan Sunny. It helped her to move the wares around, supply interested friends while she collected money later.
Only few paid for the materials on delivery; many bought on credit. The debt kept mounting and it was beginning to affect the business. She was fed up but she could not call it quits because there was no other means of survival.
One Saturday, she set out to meet some of her debtors. It was all stories, Aisha said. She became dejected. The fuel in her car was running low and she needed to top it up but there was no money.
As she was driving back home, dejectedly, a middle-aged man who appeared stranded, having waited for a cab for about an hour, flagged her down. Aisha stopped, almost absent-mindedly.
The guy asked if she could take him to Asokoro. She agreed and got N350 for the effort. And as soon as the man alighted from the car, another man entered and paid N400 for a journey of about the same distance. That was how it started.
She said, “At Wuse, a man stopped me and asked if he could help get more passangers into the car at N50 each and I accepted. And I got N250 on the short trip.
“That first day, I went home with N1,700, that was after I had filled my tank with N2,300 worth of fuel.”
The next day, she hit the road very early. And since then, she has not looked back.
Aisha has changed her car. It was in 2008, a year after she started the taxi business. She bought another Nissan Sunny for N650,000. It was an imported used car, but a newer model.
She has not set eyes on her estranged husband since they parted many years ago. But she is not bothered about that. As long as her taxi business is not hampered in any way that will affect the upkeep of her children, she is happy.

How to Write a Professional Cover Letter

    Instructions
    1. The first sentence of your cover letter should indicate your interest in a specific position. For example you might say: "I am applying for the Receptionist position posted on your website." Recruiters are often hiring for a number of positions at the same time so you want to ensure that your letter goes in the right pile.

    2. The first paragraph should explain why you're a good candidate for the position. Use key words from the job description in your letter. Be honest; don't state that you're analytical if that skill is truly not your strongest suit. Lead with your most impressive skills that directly relate to the position.

    3.   Elaborate on accomplishments in your second paragraph. Describe how you increased sales during one quarter or how you found a way to save your company thousands of dollars each year. Highlighting impressive accomplishments, especially those that relate to the position or the work that the company does shows how you would be an asset to the company.

    4. Finish the letter in a third paragraph by thanking the reader for her time. A good way to end a cover letter is by requesting a time and date to have a meeting to discuss the position.
Close with a formal sign-off like "Sincerely." Include your contact information in the final paragraph so that the employer knows how to reach you for an interview.

Obama takes oath of office, begins second term

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama took the oath of office Sunday to begin a second term threatened by strife at home and abroad and amid inaugural rituals lacking the hope and historic promise of 2009.
Obama, with a slight smile, took the oath at an intimate, private ceremony in the Blue Room of the White House lasting less than a minute, raising his right arm and placing his left hand on a family Bible.
The president solemnly swore to “faithfully execute the office of President of the United States” and to “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, so help me God.”
Chief Justice Roberts, who stumbled when swearing in Obama to open his first term in 2009, read each line of the oath out loud, before the president repeated words first intoned by George Washington, 224 years ago.
After a ceremony lasting less than a minute, Obama hugged his wife, and children Malia, 14 and Sasha, 11 before quipping: “I did it” to his youngest daughter.

Malia Obama (2nd R) and Sasha Obama (R) watch as US Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts (2nd L) administers the oath of office to US President Barack Obama for a second term in the Blue Room of the White House.
Vice President Joe Biden was sworn in before his boss at an early morning ceremony at his official residence, before the two laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Ceremony.
Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor — picked by Obama to be the first Hispanic judge to sit on the top court in his first term — made her own slice of history by leading Biden as he took the oath.
As his first term waned, Obama worshipped at a prominent African American church in Washington, where the Reverend Ronald Braxton adapted the “Forward” motto of the president’s re-election campaign to the story of Moses.
“Forward was the only option,” said Braxton.
Obama, 51, will embark on a second term at a time of deep partisan division in Washington, and will face foreign crises testing his legacy, including Iran’s nuclear program and resurgent Islamist militancy in North Africa.
Senior aide David Plouffe said the president would use his second inaugural address before an expected 500,000 plus crowd — much smaller than in 2009 — to stress the national truths Americans share.
“He is going to talk about how our founding principles and values can still guide us in today’s modern and changing world,” Plouffe said on the ABC News show “This Week.”
“He is going to say that our political system does not require us to resolve all of our differences or settle all of our disputes, but it is absolutely imperative that our leaders try and seek common ground.”
Obama’s second inauguration, which comes courtesy of an election win over Republican Mitt Romney in November, lacks the historical resonance of January 20, 2009, when he was sworn in as the first black American president.
Since then, a graying Obama has struggled to accelerate a weak economic recovery, failed to meet hugely elevated expectations for his presidency and waged a political war of attrition with Republicans.
He begins anew with several fierce budget battles looming in Congress, and his “Yes We Can” rhetoric soured by sarcasm over the blocking tactics of Republicans in the partisan brouhaha paralyzing government in Washington.
Abroad, the US confrontation with Iran is fast-headed to a critical point with the specter of military action becoming ever more real the longer diplomacy over Tehran’s nuclear program remains stuck in neutral.
And terror strikes that killed Americans in Benghazi and Algeria call into question Obama’s election year sound bite that “Al-Qaeda is on the run,” despite the killing of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan in 2011.
Muscle-flexing by China and rising tensions in contested waters with its neighbors, as well as North Korea’s nuclear belligerence, will meanwhile test the president’s signature pivot of US diplomacy to Asia.
Obama was taking the oath of office on Sunday to comply with the US Constitution, which dictates his first term ends at noon on January 20.
Tradition states that when that date falls on a Sunday, a private swearing-in is followed on Monday by the public festivities, including the second oath taking, the address, parade and glittering inaugural balls.
Obama knows that for second term presidents, power quickly wanes and political potholes await.
The second term “curse” often strikes: Richard Nixon resigned, Bill Clinton was impeached, George W. Bush’s image was shattered by Iraq and Hurricane Katrina and Ronald Reagan’s legacy was marred by the Iran-Contra scandal.
Plouffe said however that with a full agenda, including immigration reform, gun control and speeding the economic recovery, Obama would hardly be shuffling around the White House looking for things to do.

Bayero, injured sons flown to Britain

How my brother died protecting Emir’
Emir of Kano Alhaji Ado Bayero was yesterday flown out of Nigeria to a hospital in the United Kingdom for medical checkup, following an unsuccessful attempt on his life by gunmen on Saturday.
Bayero flew out of the country shortly after 1pm on board a chartered Barbados Group aircraft along with his two sons, who were injured in the attack, through the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport.
He was accompanied to the airport by Kano State deputy governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and other state government officials.
In the attack on Saturday, three of the emir’s staff were shot dead when gunmen ambushed his motorcade which was pulling out of Hausawa area of Kano where he had attended a Qur’anic graduation ceremony and commissioning of Islamic school at Masallacin Murtala.
Witness accounts said about a dozen attackers fired at the emir’s car and other vehicles on the convoy, causing the death of his driver, orderly and a personal guard.
Also killed in the attack was interim chairman of Kumbotso Local Government Area, Alhaji Salisu Abdullahi Kura, and two others.
Bayero’s sons, Ciroman Kano Alhaji Sanusi Ado Bayero and Turakin Kano Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero, sustained gunshot wounds in the attack.
Reports also indicated that the monarch had been slightly injured by broken glasses, though Governor Rabi’u Kwankwaso and spokesman for the Joint Task Force (JTF) Captain Ikedichi Iweha said the emir escaped unhurt.
Speaking to newsmen at the Kano airport before the emir’s departure to the UK, Ganduje said Bayero was only traveling for routine medical checkup which had been scheduled even before the assault.
The deputy governor, who expressed gratitude to God for saving the life of the 83-year-old monarch, said the attackers had wished to kill him.
“However, they got those who protected him. But as you can see, he is flying to London not because of the incident, he is flying because it is time for him to go for medical checkup,” he said. He disclosed that security agents had arrested some persons suspected to have hands in the attack, and that some of the perpetrators were foreigners.
“While chatting with the emir, he recalled how the attackers appeared and started shooting, saying that from their looks, they comprised of people who are not from Kano and non-Nigerians,” said Ganduje.
“The situation is under control. I urge the people of the state to continue offering prayers and to continue cooperating with the security agencies, so that those people who are committing these crimes can be fished out.”
Also, the special adviser to Kano State governor on Emirate Council, Alhaji Tijjani Mailafiya Sanka, condemned Saturday’s attack and called on the people of the state to pass useful information to security forces.
Meanwhile, a security source informed Daily Trust that about half a dozen insurgents commanders came all the way from Bama in Borno State to coordinate the attack. The source added that five people had been arrested, out of which two were killed.
But when contacted, Captain Iweha said the JTF was still conducting investigations.
Before seeking medical attention abroad, Alhaji Ado Bayero attended prayers for peace in the state at the Kano Central mosque.
The prayer, which was led by the Chief Imam of Kano Prof Sani Zahraddeen, was also attended by members of the Emirate Council and other traditional rulers from the local government areas of the state.
The Chief Imam prayed God to prevent a recurrence of Saturday’s incident, and urged the people to continue to pray for peace.

    A Torturous TrainRide

A torturous train rideThey were eager to travel home by rail. They did, but the journey was harrowing for students, who travelled from Ilorin to the Southwest during the Yuletide. HAMEED MURITALA (300-Level Mass Communication, University of Ilorin) writes.
Lagos by train”, “Abeokuta by train”, “Ibadan by train”, “train lo sure ju” (train is the surest method of transportation). These are some of the phrases one hears from students of higher institutions the Southwest and parts of North Central, particularly Kwara State anytime they are travelling home on holidays.
The last Yuletide break was not different. Students of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) and Kwara State Polytechnic (KWARA POLY) and other institutions from neighbouring states such as the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUT MINNA) and the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) besieged the Ilorin terminal of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC).
They were travelling home to celebrate Christmas with their families. Students joined the swarm of travellers at terminals in Offa, Osogbo and Ibadan.
They thronged the railway stations with their luggage amid excitement. “For the first time in my life, I will travel from Ilorin to Lagos by rail,” said Olamide Azeez, an Abeokuta-bound passenger and 200-Level Sociology student of UNILORIN. “Elderly people always mock younger ones like me that our generation is not lucky to enjoy inter-state railway trip such as this,” Olamide added.
As early as 5am on December 23, the student-travellers got to the train station in Ilorin to purchase tickets for convenient seats in the coaches. Olamide said: “I came here with my friends from FUT MINNA and FUTA very early so that we could all get comfortable places to sit inside the train. On getting there, we even met some people who slept overnight at the station. “Apart from its affordability, I choose to go to Abeokuta by rail particularly because it is safer than road transportation,” the student added.
A few minutes before 7am, NRC officials started selling the tickets to travellers at the Ilorin terminal. There were first class and second class tickets. Their prices varied according to distance. For instance, a first class ticket for Ilorin-Lagos by rail cost N1,020; second class, N720.
Intermittently, the queues were disrupted by shunts and other eager passengers. In the chaotic exercise, some of the students sustained injuries, others lost personal effects such as wristwatches, wallets and mobile phones.
The overcrowded train left the Ilorin station by 9am amid greetings from food and recharge card vendors. The coaches were overcrowded, a situation which made passengers to sit in the trains toilets. Some hanged by the entrances; others sat on the roof of the coaches.
The journey turned out to be a disappointment for some. Akeem Adebayo, ND II Business Administration, KWARA POLY, rued the moment he decided to travel to Lagos by rail.
“I got to the train station around 6:30am, after which I bought a ticket and yet, I could not get a place to sit inside the train. I don’t think I have made a good decision by travelling by train because as I stand here, I am suffering myself for nothing,” he said
Abiodun Olatunji, 300-Level Mass Communication, UNILORIN, said: “If it is not that I want to see my family members this Christmas, I would not have travelled today, because the stress is too much. You can see that I will have to stand here (coach entrance) till we get to Abeokuta. This is outright discomfort.”
The affordability of the fare was the reason many of the students jumped aboard the train to their various home. According to Abdulwasiu Esuola, 200-Level Law, UNILORIN, the fare from Ilorin to Lagos is cheaper by rail compared to fare of road transport. “The journey to Lagos by bus would have cost me N2,500 but I paid only N720 by train,” he said.
The train had a stopover at Offa, Osogbo, Ede, Iwo, Ibadan and Abeokuta stations, before it finally berthed Lagos around 8pm. As they alighted from the train at each terminal, they exercised their body parts to stretch the stiff organs. Some of them urged the NRC to improve on the service by bringing comfortable coaches.
Abiola Laoye, 200-Level Engineering student of FUT MINNA, urged the government to fast-track the rehabilitation project of the rail transport, saying “this project will make travel by rail interesting for the passengers and create jobs for the people.”

Real Shocking earnings of Yoruba movie stars

Quite a number of perks come with being a movie star in this part of the world. They include designer clothes, luxury cars and posh apartments.
Apart from their penchant for such status symbols, today’s Nollywood actors and actresses are also seen as role models, especially to the young and impressionable who dream of becoming stars some day.
But, judging by the results of a recent investigation conducted by Saturday Beats, it appears all that glitters is not gold, after all.
Contrary to popular opinion, the life of the average Yoruba movie star is that of constant ‘suffering and smiling’.
In spite of the fabulous profiles and immense goodwill enjoyed by some of these celebrated screen gods and goddesses, the contents of their bank accounts are really nothing to be cheerful about.
Even the ‘alarming’ increase in the volume of home video films produced in Yoruba language ought to be sufficient to improve the bank balances of such celebrities. To make matters worse, many of them suffer from a financial disease known as ‘Withdrawal Symptom.’ In fact, it is no longer news that a good number are regular visitors to ATMs.
“As soon as money is paid into their bank accounts, you will see them rushing to the nearest ATM to withdraw almost all the cash,” an amused banker told Saturday Beats recently.
Certainly it is difficult to believe that no reasonably successful Yoruba actor or actress has ever been paid up to N500, 000 for a lead role in any movie. Half a million seems a fantastic sum by all indications. Instead, the maximum fee payable to the best actor or actress has remained between N150k and N250k. Even many of the ‘veterans’ receive as low as N10k to appear in a film feature.
While those that are constantly in demand or have won awards in the industry, such as the likes of Funke Akindele and Odunlade Adekola, earn a maximum of N250k per feature film, the rest are left with peanuts. Interestingly, an exception to this ‘golden rule’ is Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde. Saturday Beats investigation shows that she earns between N250k and N400k.
Another ‘big earning’ actor is Adebayo Salami, aka Oga Bello. It is said that he hardly receives part payment from any producer. Usually on location, he would demand his fee of not more that N150,000 before going into action.
The same is said about Omotola who does not budge until she or her manager has confirmed that a certain amount of money has been deposited in her bankaccount.
However, the so-called big budget film productions have never exceeded the N3m mark despite the fact that a lot of money goes into paying the crew and cast. Money is also spent on production equipment, lights, costumes, makeups, transport, food, accommodation, generating plant sets, and other logistics/incidental expenses. That is also why most of the cast and crew are grateful when the filmmaker or marketer, who bankrolls the production, is able to hand them paltry sums of money.
“You can count on your fingers the number of individuals involved in the production who respectively got paid less than N50,000,” a production hand says.
Also included in the budget are the editing suite staff, copies of empty VCDs to be dubbed, posters and film jackets to be printed, marketing and distribution.
Now we know why most of the highly paid or underpaid actors/ actresses are writing their own movie scripts and directing or producing their own movie projects, as well as saturating the market with volumes of half-baked home videos every week.
Bukky Wright was the highest paid actress in the Yoruba language genre before Funke Akindele broke her N150,000 per featured film record with Jenifa.
Omilade Babatunde, aka Baba Suwe, used to be the highest paid aactor until the much younger Odunlade Adekola, aka Cause Trouble, began to earn up to N250k per feature film. The other notable figures? Well, they are trying hard to catch up with Omotola, Funke and Odunlade.
Omotola, Adebayo Salami, Funke Akindele, Bukky Wright and Odunlade Adekola were unavailable for comment.
But prolific film producer, Kunle Afolayan, said, “I really don’t know how much they earn now because I’ve since moved on to other major things.”
Top actress, Lizzy Anjorin, found it hard to answer the question.
“Ha! That’s a tough question that I don’t have a ready answer for. Fees vary from one filmmaker to another. As for me, I bill per script and I don’t appear in just about any film.”
Saturday Beats sought the view of scriptwriter/actor/filmmaker, Femi Davies.
He responded, “You can’t really get any top actor/actress that will proudly and honestly tell you this is how much he or she earns per film. But for my years in the industry, I don’t know anyone that collects half a million naira per film he or she featured in that’s not a film produced by him or her. Things can only get better.”
The story is not different in the Igbo or the Hausa language-speaking movie sector. We gathered that the actors/actresses who in real life drive fancy cars, live in their own houses, dress in the latest designer clothes, are the privileged ones who have been able to sustain and maintain their celebrity/star status by engaging in private business outside movies like car dealership, party/event planning, boutiques, supermarkets, hair dressing saloons, voice-over on radio/TV adverts, comperes at private and public functions, corporate brand endorsements.

“God Knows That I Need A Wife” – Osita Iheme (Pawpaw)

With his screen twin brother, Chinedu Ikedieze (Aki) already married and expecting a first child with Nneoma, his darling wife, Osita Iheme famously known as Pawpaw is quietly crying and eagerly searching for a wife and soul mate this New Year.
    osita-iheme-inspired1011
And to prove how serious his search for a life partner is, the Nollywood phenomenon has taken his case to God in supplications.
    Speaking in an exclusive intervi
ew with EE, the Imo State-born entertainer who was raised in Aba, the commercial nerve centre of Abia State, disclosed that he would like to settle down this year with his missing rib.
“But the challenge is that I do not know whom to marry. I’m not really searching per se, of course, I have many female friends and fans. Some of them intimate, but picking the person I will spend the rest of my life with is what is delaying my settling down. God will help me decide soon, because with Him all things are possible.”

On how soon he is expecting to hear from God on the choice of a life partner, Iheme, who still laments the death of his dear father, refused to give details.

“I know I will be getting married someday, it could even be tomorrow, this month or even next month, but what I cannot tell is the very day or date. I have told you everything is in God’s hands and He alone will help me make the right choice. Mind you, he who finds a wife, finds a good thing…”
Is the lucky lady an actress or a member of the Nollywood family? We asked, taking into cognizance the fact that Aki, his acting twin brother picked a wife from the industry.
“I do not know and would not want to disclose anything about my future wife or even give clues. But I have always told you that I can marry an actress. Of course, there are a couple of them in the picture, but I have somebody I confide in always. I do not know if I’m still searching or not because love has been kind to me. God knows that I need a wife and He will surely provide a good one for me.”
Meanwhile, close pals and associates of the wealthy actor who was decorated with the national honour of MFR, last year by President Goodluck Jonathan, are insinuating that he might spin a surprise by unveiling his sweet heart at his forthcoming birthday, which holds on February 20.
Iheme, the last in a family of five, four boys and a girl, rose to prominence with his wondrous role as Pawpaw in the monster hit movie-Aki na Ukwa, in 2002, courtesy of Amayo Uzo Philips. He is currently studying Computer Science at the University of Lagos.

The wife of the iconic African pop star, Annie Macaulay Idibia has opened up on why Tuface Idibia begged her to marry him.

In a revealing interview she granted Jara, a TV programme on Africa Magic channel on DSTV, the singer’s wife reconstructed the scenario of how Tuface proposed to her and why he chose her among the other women in his life.
    In her words:
“He called me up one morning that I should meet him in Lagos so that we can hang out. He said his friends are around and they want to take us out. So, I agreed to see him. I remember it was a particular friend of ours that was around that day, although I would not like to mention his name.

“And when I got to Lagos that day, he was like ‘let’s go to the club.’ When we got to the club, the place was totally empty. Obviously confused, I asked him, “baby, what are we doing here, it’s empty” and before I turned back, my brothers and friends showed up. I was so perplexed that I had to ask what everybody was doing around there and they said they heard we were there and they came.

“Just about few minutes after, Tuface picked up the microphone and I thought he was going to do all the normal hypes he does when he goes to the club. But he shocked me. He started saying things about how I have always been there for him since day one. How I have sacrificed alot for him. How I have cried and stood strong during his trying moments.

The truth is, he said so many things I can’t remember now. He said so many wonderful things that sent me into another world and I couldn’t even hear the other things he said.

“I didn’t even know when he walked up to me and he said “Please, will you marry me?” And I was like, “Can you imagine? What’s going on here?” he was saying so many things that I can’t even remember. It all blew my head.

“Although, it has not been easy since we had our traditional marriage. The truth is, it is not easy to be married to a superstar but I still live my normal life.
Right now, I feel 24 hours is not enough for me because I have my husband, my daughter and myself to take care of. It has really been crazy and God knows I have been trying my best. I wish I have more time to handle all of this.

“Just because of the lack of time, I haven’t been able do my normal acting jobs. I would still go on to do it soon because my husband is very supportive of my career and everything I do.
As a married woman, I would be more selective with the roles I take now. I would do away from controversial roles but that doesn’t mean if I see a good storyline I wouldn’t do it.

“One of the reasons I would be careful with the roles I take up now is because I am married. And when you are married you have to be able to manage your career such that it won’t affect your home front.
In any case, you need to learn some tips which will help you carry on in the marriage. But before that, you need to be sure that the man loves you as much as you love him.

Even if it is not as much as you love him, but be sure he loves you. You also need to be patient. Men are like babies and babies are very annoying. You need to scold them but you should pamper them more. You need to work on yourself so that you can be proud of yourself. Don’t fake anything.

“Very soon, Tuface and I plan to do our white wedding and you will all be invited and even though it will be something quiet. We don’t want to make too much noise about it. We just want a beautiful and memorable event.”
